About This Book

Q: What is this?

A: The SharedBook book is a high-quality, professionally-printed, personalized book that YOU create online with a layout that we provide. After ordering your Book, it will get mailed to you a week or so later. It can be personalized to include your photos and your comments, or you can include photos or comments that have been posted by your family and friends.

Q: What are the system requirements?

A: Requires Internet Explorer 6.0+ (Windows) or Firefox 2.0+ (Mac/Windows). Acrobat Reader is also required to view a sample book and to preview the final version of your book, once created. You can download the free software now by clicking here.

Q: Is there a way to preview sample before I order?

A: Yes. Just click the “See a Sample” button at the top of this window to see a sample of this book.

Q: What will the book contain?

A: There are some pages in the book that are already created for you; in addition to these, you can add your own stories and photos.

Q: What types of book bindings are available?

A: You are able to choose either a hard or softcover for your book. The hardcover book consists of a sturdy binding with a cut-out framing your front cover photo and the title of your book printed on the spine. The softcover is printed on premium glossy heavyweight laminate and displays your front cover photo directly on the cover along with the title of your book.

Q: What is the maximum number of pages that I can include?

A: A book may include a maximum of 250 pages. Please note that each book includes a standard number of pages and you will be charged $1.00 for every two pages you add to the standard number.

Q: Can I see what the process involves?

A: Yes. You can click on the "Take a Tour" button at the top of this window to get a short tour of the features and functions of the site.

Q: What is the White Glove Service?

A: If you prefer not to use your computer to personalize your book, our Customer Service Staff would be happy to do it for you. Please contact Customer Service at support@sharedbook.com or call 1-888-212-3121 for details and pricing. Following your instructions, we will begin assembling the materials into a beautiful book that will preserve your memories for a lifetime. When we're done, we will e-mail you a copy of the book for you to review. Upon your approval, we will have your book printed and shipped to you within approximately 14-18 business days.

Miscellaneous

Q: If I don't have a digital camera, is it still possible for me to create a book?

A: Yes. There are several options if you take pictures with a non-digital camera. You can scan your pictures onto the computer and upload them into the book. If you don't have a scanner, you can ask to get your pictures placed on a CD when you get your pictures developed, and then you can upload them onto the website. You can also have your pictures or negatives scanned and placed on a CD through most office supply stores, if your film is already developed. Another way to create a book is simply by using photos that have already been uploaded into the shared library by other members.
